Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Signalling & Telecommunication (S&T) to lead the execution of Railway S&T projects across multiple locations. The role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering projects within the defined schedule, budget, quality, and safety standards while ensuring compliance with Indian Railways specifications and project requirements.
Candidates must be proficient in speaking Malayalam to effectively coordinate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, monitor, and successfully deliver Railway Signalling & Telecommunication (S&T) projects.
- Prepare project schedules, manpower deployment plans, resource allocation, and project budgets.
- Manage installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of S&T systems, including:
- Electronic Interlocking (EI)
- Panel Interlocking (PI)
- OFC Network
- Axle Counter Systems
- Integrated Power Supply (IPS)
- Telecom Systems
- Block Signalling
- Data Logger
- VDU and associated S&T equipment
- Coordinate with Railway Authorities, Clients, Consultants, Contractors, Vendors, and Internal Departments.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion within budget.
- Lead and manage site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Review technical drawings, BOQs, specifications, and ensure execution as per approved standards.
- Conduct project reviews, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with Railway standards, RDSO specifications, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
- Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports for management and clients.
- Support billing, work certification, material reconciliation, and contract administration.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Railway Signalling & Telecommunication systems.
- Experience in Railway EPC project execution.
- Excellent project planning and scheduling skills (MS Project/Primavera preferred).
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective stakeholder and client management skills.
- Good understanding of Railway safety standards and quality procedures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, ERP/SAP, and project documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in Malayalam (Speaking) is mandatory.
- Ability to communicate in English or Hindi will be an added advantage.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in Indian Railways, Metro Rail, DFCCIL, RVNL, RailTel, IRCON, RITES, or Railway EPC projects.
- Hands-on experience in EI/PI commissioning, OFC laying, Telecom Networks, IPS, and Axle Counter systems.
- Experience managing multiple Railway S&T project sites simultaneously.
- Knowledge of Railway contracts, billing, tendering, and project documentation.
