Management Intern (MI) – Roles & Responsibilities (Based on Functions)

Open to All Departments:

Duration: Fixed Term Internship (2-6 months)

Permanent Role: PPO based on performance.

Interns will gain structured exposure across based on their core qualification in masters:

  • CEO’s Office & Corporate Strategy – Business planning, strategic initiatives, leadership reviews
  • Finance & Accounts / Revenue Assurance – Project billing, cost tracking, financial workflows
  • Human Resources – Hiring coordination, onboarding processes, workforce planning
  • Sales / Business Development (B2G/B2B) – Tendering, proposal support, client coordination
  • Business Operations – Execution tracking, inter-department coordination
  • Legal & Contracts – Contract lifecycle, compliance basics
  • Quality Management System (QMS) – Documentation, process adherence, audits
  • Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) – Safety compliance in railway projects
  • Procurement & Vendor Management – RFQs, vendor coordination, material tracking
  • Project Management Office (PMO) – Project tracking, MIS, reporting dashboards
  • Revenue Assurance (Planning & Billing) – Measurement sheets, billing cycles
  • Engineering Design – Basic understanding of signalling, electrical, and civil interfaces
  • Product / Systems Understanding – Railway signalling & control systems basics
  • Facilities, Inventory & Admin – Site-level operations and logistics

1. Business & Organizational Understanding

  • Develop a strong understanding of:
    • Company structure, functions, and interdependencies
    • End-to-end business lifecycle (Sales → Execution → Billing → Closure)
  • Gain exposure to how different departments contribute to project delivery

2. Execution Support

  • Assist teams in day-to-day operational and project activities
  • Support timely execution of assigned tasks with quality and accuracy
  • Track deliverables, timelines, and dependencies

3. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support decision-making
  • Prepare:
    • MIS reports
    • Dashboards
    • Status updates
  • Highlight risks, gaps, and actionable insights

4. Documentation & Process Compliance

  • Prepare and maintain:
    • Reports, presentations, and records
    • Process documents and trackers
  • Ensure adherence to:
    • Internal policies
    • Quality Management System (QMS) requirements

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate with multiple departments to:
    • Gather inputs and align on deliverables
    • Ensure smooth flow of information
  • Act as a coordination link between teams where required

6. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies or process gaps
  • Propose practical solutions and improvements
  • Support implementation of process improvements

7. Stakeholder Interaction

  • Communicate effectively with:
    • Internal teams
    • Reporting managers
  • Provide regular updates on task progress and challenges

8. Learning & Development

  • Actively participate in:
    • Training sessions
    • Knowledge-sharing forums
  • Build understanding of:
    • Business operations

    • Tools and systems used within the organization
