Job Summary
The Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) – Engineering Design supports the execution of railway design activities across Signalling (S&T), Electrical, and Civil interface domains.
This role is designed to provide structured learning and hands-on exposure to railway design standards, AutoCAD-based drafting, and multidisciplinary coordination under the guidance of senior engineers.
Roles & Responsibilities
Design Support (Primary)
- Assist in preparation of basic railway design drawings and layouts
- Support AutoCAD-based drafting activities, including:
- Cable Routing Layouts
- Basic Interlocking Layouts (under supervision)
- Location Box / Equipment Layouts
- Trenching and Interface Drawings
- Learn and apply relevant RDSO / Indian Railways standards in design work
Documentation & Coordination
- Support senior engineers in:
- BOQ preparation
- Technical documentation and design submissions
- Incorporate review comments and maintain drawing revision control
- Coordinate with internal teams for collecting design inputs
Learning & Development
- Participate in structured training programs and internal design reviews
- Gain exposure to multidisciplinary railway systems (S&T, Electrical, Civil)
- Assist in documentation support during Testing & Commissioning (T&C), as required
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in:
- Electrical
- Electronics / ECE
- Instrumentation
- Experience: 0–1 years (Freshers preferred)
Key Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD (2D preferred)
- Fundamental understanding of engineering drawings
- Strong willingness to learn railway systems and standards
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to follow instructions and work in structured environments
- Basic communication and coordination skills
